Get Involved. Make an Impact.
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce is powered by people who are willing to get involved. Our committees and task forces bring together business and community leaders who share their time, experience, ideas, and expertise to strengthen our business community and help move the Albany area forward.
Getting involved is also one of the best ways to make the most of your Chamber membership. Committee service creates opportunities to build meaningful relationships, develop leadership skills, expand your network, contribute your perspective, and have a voice in the work that matters to our local businesses and community.
Whether your interests are in advocacy, workforce development, leadership, events, business connections, or community initiatives, there are opportunities to put your talents to work in a meaningful way.
Committee openings are available throughout the year, and we welcome members who are ready to contribute, connect, and make a difference. Find the opportunity that speaks to you and get involved—we’re stronger when you’re part of the work.
AMBASSADORS
Chamber Ambassadors are the goodwill arm of the Albany Area Chamber, serving as enthusiastic representatives of the Chamber and champions of our business community. They help create a welcoming, connected Chamber by building relationships, celebrating our members, and making sure people feel included and engaged.
Ambassadors represent the Chamber at ribbon cuttings, grand openings, groundbreakings, Business After Hours, and other Chamber and community events. They welcome new members and encourage others to become part of our growing business community.
ALBANY BUSINESS EXTRAVAGANZA
The Albany Business Extravaganza Committee helps bring one of the Chamber’s premier annual business events to life.
Committee members help promote the event, encourage participation, and personally connect with Chamber members and past participants to build excitement and engagement. It’s a great opportunity for members who enjoy networking, outreach, and helping create a successful event that puts Albany-area businesses in the spotlight.
EMERGING LEADERS
The Emerging Leaders Committee helps shape opportunities for young professionals to connect, grow, and lead in the Albany community. The committee plans and promotes programming designed to build meaningful professional relationships, and speaker topics related to leadership development and community involvement.
GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Golf Tournament Committee helps promote the Chamber’s annual June Golf Tournament, our largest fundraising event. This popular event brings business and community leaders together for a day of networking, relationship-building, and fun while supporting the Chamber’s work in our community.
Committee members help secure sponsorships, encourage team participation, promote the tournament, and assist with planning and event-day activities to make the tournament a success.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
The Governmental Affairs Committee serves as a strong voice for business by monitoring local, state, and federal legislative issues, policies, and regulations that may impact our members and the regional business climate.
The committee convenes monthly to review key issues, recommends Chamber positions when appropriate, advocates on behalf of the business community, and keeps members informed about legislation and opportunities to engage in the public policy process.
GREETERS FACILITATORS
Greeters Facilitators and Door Greeters help create the welcoming, energetic atmosphere of our weekly Chamber Greeters networking events held throughout the Albany area.
Door Greeters welcome businesses and guests, connect new attendees with Chamber members and staff. Facilitators serve as connectors and also lead the weekly meeting agenda—keeping the program engaging and on time. It’s a great fit for outgoing individuals who have the leadership skills to keep a room moving.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The Scholarship Committee comes together each spring to review student scholarship applications and select recipients based on established guidelines and criteria. Committee members play a meaningful role in recognizing promising students and investing in the next generation of leaders in our community.
WOMEN IN BUSINESS
The Women in Business Committee provides insight into the opportunities and challenges facing women in the workforce and helps shape relevant, meaningful programming for female professionals. Committee members help develop and promote events, encourage participation, and create opportunities for women to connect, grow professionally, and support one another.
