Committees

It's Time to Get Involved!

If you would like to be involved in helping to promote the growth and prosperity of the Albany area, the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce is a great place to be involved. The Chamber has various committees and task forces to represent the major areas of interest of our business community.

These committees have openings throughout the year. If you have time and interest, we would like to offer you the opportunity to become involved. If you would like more information, please indicate below which of the committees you are interested in.

AMBASSADORS

The Chamber Ambassadors are the "Goodwill" arm of the Chamber. They attend ribbon cutting ceremonies, open houses, Business After Hours and other Chamber or community events.

AG APPRECIATION BREAKFAST

Organizes an appreciation breakfast to recognize area agriculture producers for their community contributions.

BUSINESSES ON DISPLAY

Organizes and presents the annual Businesses on Display trade show each September.

DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE TASK FORCE

Works with area businesses to develop drug-free workplace programs including: drug and alcohol identification, workplace policy development, employer and employee resources, etc.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Works to improve the education of K-12 students through the Students of the Month, high school scholarships, etc.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Oversees the Chamber finances, helps to set financial goals and recommends necessary programs or activities to the Board of Directors.

SPRING GOLF TOURNAMENT

Organizes and presents the annual June Golf Tournament, the largest fundraising event for the Chamber.

GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS

Monitors local and state legislative issues, takes legislative positions as necessary, and acts as an advocate on behalf of Chamber member businesses.

GREETERS

Attend weekly "greets" at member businesses and/or new businesses in the Albany area. These provide business/social-networking opportunities to Chamber members.

MEMBERSHIP & MARKETING COMMITTEE

Evaluates the Chamber's marketing and communication materials, makes changes or recommendations to the Board of Directors. Provides services to existing members and enhances the involvement of all Chamber members.

YOUTH JOB FAIR

Provides high school students from Linn and Benton counties the opportunity to practice their job interviewing skills and learn about various careers with local employers.
